cgap.ucdavis.edu -- This link will take you to the online form with which you can request Cheek Swab Submittal Kits for your PWD to become a part of Dr. AnitaOberbauer’s UC Davis Addison’s study. When you get to the site, click on “Portuguese Water Dog” in the left column and complete the online request form. In the “Comments” area of the form, type in “Addison’s Study.”

We need cheek swabs from all dogs even if they are not related to any dogs that have Addison’s disease.

Karen Berggren and her Pedigree Study Group has an online database with over 29,000 PWD (and growing daily) pedigrees and more than a 1,000 pictures. This database is very easy to navigate and you can also print a pedigree from it as well. You’re sure to find a pedigree for almost every PWD! You can get a password to access to the database for a minimum $40.00 donation to the PWDF marked SPECIFICALLY for the PSG. Please see Karen’s website for more details.
