Perry was named for singer Perry Como, in the hopes that he would be as mellow. He was! He had the joyful spark of a puppy, but was sweet & calm. This made him an exemplary therapy dog. For 6 years, Perry supplied love and games of fetch at an assisted living facility. Two days before he died of hemangiosarcoma, Perry was in the emergency vet’s waiting room; he was wearing a cone, stitches lined his abdomen, yet he headed to the elderly persons nearby and gave affection– still on his mission.
Perry took very good care of me, too. His love was boundless, his kisses precious. He made me laugh, especially when he helped himself to only the gourmet items in the refrigerator whenever I forgot the padlocks.
Wherever he is now, he is providing love, laughs and joy.
