PWDs Needed!

Drs. Steven Friedenberg and Leigh Anne Clark and their research team at the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine and Clemson University are investigating the genetics of Addison’s disease specifically in PWDs!

This project uses a state-of-the-art approach to mapping complex genetic traits. The ultimate goal is to understand the genetic risk factors for Addison’s disease in PWDs and to develop a test that can help breeders decrease the incidence of the disease.

Participate Today!

At the 2021 PWDCA National Specialty, Drs. Friedenberg and Clark will be collecting blood samples of dogs that quality. All that’s required is a small blood sample. The study will pay for all costs, including shipping to the lab.

  • PWDs of any age who have Addison’s disease
  • PWDs over 10 years of age without Addison’s disease

For additional information, please visit the study website at z.umn.edu/addisons or email the research team directly at pwdstudy@umn.edu.

Health Seminar

Also at the National Specialty, researchers Drs. Steven Friedenberg and Leigh Anne Clark will be presenting their latest findings about Addison’s Disease.
